I think some people might find the above question a bit awkward. One may say it sounds like buying likes. But is it really the case?
For one second imagine you need decent help, not JUST help. You have found yourself in an unfortunate circumstances, not capable to cope with the scope of the bad things, not strong enough to rise and put yourself, your life back together. Or maybe legislation in your country has led you to troubles, because you were not aware of something. I think each of us has experienced it at least once in our life, sometimes the scope of it was too overwhelming to be able to do something about it. And then someone notices your problems, decides to give you a helping hand. They also ask others to do the same, organize fundraising, purchase things you need, arrange live events etc.

They help you regain confidence, be back on track with your life
You are very grateful knowing, that each and every single person made a difference. Would you not want them to be recognized? I guess you would like to share it with the world. And sometimes those people would not even find out about you, if they were not running their fanpage, participate in group discussions etc. And sometimes it is also better for them, because some of them can possibly deduct money they give you from their income and pay less tax – win – win situation 😉
They may – on the other hand – also need your help
The other aspect – especially important for entrepreneurs – of engaging into charity activities is not only additional recognition and a bit of marketing on social media. If you really get into helping others, you may find it an interesting field to gain better understanding of people’s needs, problems.
You come out of your comfort bubble (not zone – this is different) to actually experience life full of – quite often – completely different problems, than your life or business would ever make you face. You have a chance to expand your level of compassion, but also learn solve problems, you would never come across otherwise, you can know yourself better by gaining confidence of dealing with so many more challenging situations. Furthermore – you can meet so many new people.
You can get inspired in the areas, you would never discover in your business bubble. And you never know, who will inspire you and how – maybe you will develop new areas in your business life too! When helping others, you can also try to optimize the way you help people, by trying to get more resources but investing less. This can also be a good exercise for your ‘business muscles’!

So are you buying likes, follows? Or do they come as a side effect of you being a good person? And don’t be afraid to say – I have done something good, I have changed someone’s life. Even if that is a small thing. They are in a completely different place, that they were before I got engaged into helping. This is all about the perspective. And those little things also help you believe in yourself, gain better confidence, make better decisions when one day maybe you will need help and will be experienced in dealing with critic situation 🙂

What can be the visible result?
I recently offered to fund some gadgets for children in care homes, along with a number of other entrepreneurs. The person organizing this was truly amazed and was able to collate tens of gifts to bring smiles to children’s faces, to give them that feeling, that someone actually cares 🙂 The only thing she did was to tag those, that got engaged in a simple fb post with thanks. Suddenly my own fanpage started getting hits, likes, reaches and I was not sure, what it was all about as I was not too active recently due to other commitments. But I think it is worth sharing with you.

Building a community of people from your business area in an organic way takes time. If you are a blogger yourself, you know that. And here my role is to test as much as possible and spend as little as I can. Time for paying for ads will come, but I would like to exceed the list of my ways of earning online without investing first.
And attracting organic traffic is a first step to get recognized and identifiable at low cost. And start getting more hits, offers, build your brand and start monetizing. But also getting surrounded by more people with the same ethics and non-business values. Be visible!
